Welcoming a New Team Member

Modified on: September 4, 2018

I am very happy to share with you that for the 2018-19 academic year, UUCS will enjoy the great benefit of adding to our team a new member: a year-long intern.

Anne Garner is a Greenville resident and a distance-learning graduate student at the progressive Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. In her second year of study, Anne is required to do a field education placement. Because of her commitment to liberal religious practice and social justice, colleagues in Greenville urged her to consider doing her internship here with us at UUCS. After several months of discussion and interviews, our board agreed that this would be an excellent partnership. We will welcome Anne on Sunday, and she will serve with us until May 2019.

Anne will work 12-15 hours each week, usually on Mondays and Tuesdays. Her focus will be on social justice, pastoral care, worship and administration. I will meet with her for a supervisory conference each week. She is thrilled to join us, and her coming has already infused our preparations for the new church year with added energy and excitement.

Please introduce yourself to Anne, and share with her the warmth of our congregation, the warmth of who each of us are, and the dream of who we might all further become together.

With great anticipation,
