Show Up for Social JusticeFebruary 13, 2020
This weekend, help us show UUCS’s support for these crucial acts of solidarity & community action:
- League of Women Voters 100th Birthday Celebration & Advocacy Event: On Friday, February 14 from 12:00-2:00pm at Spill The Beans, the League of Women Voters will celebrate its 100th birthday! Celebrate and Act! Join League members for coffee and tea to toast the League, then act by writing postcards to our legislators telling them our state needs fair electoral maps.
- South Converse Neighborhood Art Unveiling: Saturday, Feb. 15th at 12:00pm in the UUCS Fellowship Hall, the SCNA will meet to celebrate the unveiling of the two newest Spartanburg Lightbulb Art pieces, celebrating the history and heroes of the South Converse Neighborhood. Come support our neighborhood!
- Social Justice Dialogue: This Sunday, February 16th immediately after the service in the UUCS Fellowship Hall, participate in our second social justice dialogue, on racism and voting. Your voice is needed! All are welcome. Anne Garner and Scott Neely will facilitate our conversation.
CareFebruary 6, 2020
Tornadoes in February. Leaders afraid of truth. Incompetence in our electoral process. Social media in flames over half-time shows and the State of the Union.
What times these are. What a week it has been.
But ours is not an apocalyptic faith. We rely on measured thought, and sincere care, and action for the good of all.
When storms rage, care. Care for yourself. Care for one another. Care for your neighbors. Care.
Be the reason and humanity you long to see in the world.
We are needed—
