Modified on: May 9, 2019
Saturday, May 11
8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Spartanburg Methodist College Chapel
On Saturday, May 11, come to a day-long event centered on LGBTQ theologians and spiritual leaders. These thinkers will share their own theological understanding of themselves and our world—beyond the arguments straight clergy have about LGBTQ people’s lives, even when expressing support. Our speakers include several who have spoken at UUCS recently:
- Dr. Caroline Caldwell
- Shelton Ridge Love
- Ashley Penn
- Davelyn Hill
- Dr. Cody Sanders
This event is free. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lgbtq-theologies-what-lgbtq-spiritual-leaders-say-about-their-faith-tickets-59320806128. Questions? Contact Anne Garner (firstname.lastname@example.org).
This event is organized by a team of Spartanburg clergy seeking to build support within the faith community for LGBTQ people and issues. The planning team is comprised of ministers from Central United Methodist Church, STAR (Sacred Rituals and Traditions), Spartanburg Methodist College, and Anne Garner and Scott Neely from UUCS, with support from the LGBT Fund at the Spartanburg County Foundation.
