From Your President – November 2019
Modified on: October 23, 2019
November will be another busy month at UUCS. First we start off with our Upstate Pride Table and walk on Saturday morning November 2 at Barnett Park. This will be the 11th Upstate Pride Parade and UUCS has been at every one. Thanks to Stacey Jackson and Mary Underwood for Chairing this year’s event. I hope to see many of you there at the march.
Later that day on Pride March Saturday, Janice and Robert’s Tuck Supper will be hosting their Sharing Supper at their and Peggy Hamrick’s will host her dinner a week later on, November 9. The Sharing Suppers will resume in January 2020. Our busy November continues with a New UU Class on Sunday, November 3 after our Sunday Service. Membership Co-Chairs Deb Williams and Karen Mitchell will lead this class and those who wish to become UUCS Members will sign our membership book as is required for our membership later in the month during Sunday Services.
Our largest fundraiser of the year is our 26th Annual Auction which this year will be held on Saturday, November 16th beginning at 5:30 PM. Your Auction donations are critical to the Auction’s success as well as your willingness to come back Auction Night and bid on other Member’s donations. Thanks again to Palma and Mitchell Eisner for once again agreeing to Chair our Auction. This is there eleventh year that they have agreed to do this. Thank You–Thank You–Thank Your Both!
Don’t forget to come back to Sunday Service the next day, November 17th. After the Service we will have an update on Wilde Hall from Fred Stoll, Linda Leible and Rob Gettings. This meeting will be very helpful for your Board in getting a Congregational pulse of what you see as important for our Congregation.
Not done yet though, my wife Ruth Stanton and I will again host a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner on Thursday, November 28th from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. One last point Save the Date for Saturday, December 14. UUCS will be hosting a Spartanburg premier screening of American Heretics in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00-9:00 PM. Discussion will follow after the movie.
What a busy month coming up. See you at the UU!
Love and Peace.
President, UUCS Board of Trustees
