From Your President – January 2021
Modified on: January 1, 2021
Good Bye 2020, Hello 2021. It’s been a hell of a year. Our Church has gotten an amazing amount of work done this year even though we haven’t been able to meet in person. We have a wonderful mural on our wall and a beautiful place to sit and enjoy it. The amazing people making masks to help keep us safe have passed the 5500 piece mark. The UUCS community donated over $20,000 to help undocumented immigrants. We worked on voting rights and helped out at the polls in November. We collected so much food for Total Ministries over the months. We are in our second month of first Friday’s and we have reached 25% of our goal. A big shout out to Stewardship Chair Brannon Carter for all his work. We had an in person Solstice celebration and a wonderful Christmas Eve service. We held a few in person services when we could and the Goddesses willing, the kitchen will be finished soon and the new siding for the building will be started in January.
As we move into the New Year the light at the end of the tunnel is a lot brighter with the vaccines coming. When it’s your turn, get out, roll up your sleeve and get the shot. The sooner we all get vaccinated the faster we can get back together. Our Annual Fund Drive/Unsung Hero’s event will kick off at the end of January. Since we can’t get together for a meal with each other, we will have a Zoom event for all to enjoy. You will be receiving information about this soon.
As always, wear your masks everywhere, keep your family and friends safe and practice social distancing. Don’t hesitate to call on any board member if you need something. Soon, we will be able to come back together. I want to see every one of you there.
